ADR - Dangerous Goods Training in Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire 

ADR Training, and moving dangerous goods by road, is subject to international regulations and is strictly policed. Most European countries sign up to the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR). Furthermore, each nation that complies with ADR implements specific safety measures through its own national statutory legislation.

The purpose of ADR, and likewise ADR Training, is to ensure that dangerous goods (including clinical and other dangerous waste) being carried by road can cross international borders freely so as long as operators, with their vehicles and drivers, comply with its provisions. ADR has been in force since 1968 and is administered by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). Due to technological advances and changes of legislation, it’s updated every 2 years.

5 Day ADR (Dangerous Goods) Training Courses

(Core, Packages, Tanks and 7 Classes)


The course delivery is on an intensive basis over 5 days at our centre (on-site training is available for groups). You will undertake all the theoretical and practical training required to undertake and successfully pass necessary exams. Above all, when successful look forward to guaranteed employment leaving the course more confident as a new ADR driver.

As a result of the exams being processed by the awarding body (SQA), successful candidates will receive their ADR Certificate valid for 5 years from the date of the exams. Consequently, you will then need to renew this within the last year of its expiration, so most noteworthy is ensuring you have at least 5 weeks remaining on your certificate. Finally, you will need to certainly make sure your photograph remains in date too.

ADR Training Course Aim

The ADR course provides the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to safely carry Hazardous and Dangerous Goods in accordance with the law, and be up to date with industry regulations and best practice. The training will certify the operator (driver) in the relevant classes, things do change, and so renewing it every 5 years and being up to date is key.

Training and Examination for the Safe and Legal carriage of classes Core, Packages, Tanks and 7 Classes.
Radioactive and Explosive classes available separately or in addition upon request.
Basic Firefighting Skills.
Emergency First Aid.
Qualifies for Periodic Driver CPC training (additional fees apply).

ADR training is available at all of our sites or on your site using your facilities. Courses are available six days a week (Monday to Saturday) at our Hampshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire driver training centres all throughout the year. Approved CPC Training Centre

Your ADR training course with Trailer Training UK has current approval by the governing body, SQA. It is also approved and registered with JAUPT, so you will be eligible to apply for additional free Periodic Driver CPC. Although we welcome it, we are a centre that rarely gets a visit, and enjoy successful auditing by SQA and JAUPT.

Upon Completion

As a result of passing the SQA exams at the end of the course, they will notify the DVSA. They will then issue a Dangerous Goods Certificate (ADR Card) for 5 years.
